We will use this format to write up the Frog lab and the bird and mammal DEMO dissection (If the weather warms up and we can go outside.)  As with the previous write-up format, separate sections with the sub-headings.

RERUN: each section = 2 pts.

Recall what you did

Explain how,

Results (drawings, observations),

Uncertainties (problems encountered) and

New things learned.

R = Recall the Purpose:

In this opening paragraph, you should state, in your own words, what this investigation (dissection) was supposed to accomplish, or what you were supposed to see.

E = Explain the Procedure:

Tell, in your own words, what you did.  A clearly labelled diagram will be appropriate here. Be sure to use the proper biological terminology and rules for labelling a science drawing.

R = Results:

Attach your data, other drawings. Write a sentence or two that demonstrate that you know and understand what you experienced (besides nausea.) This will probably be a qualitative statement.

U = Uncertainties:

Write a paragraph discussing, in your own words, what limitations of equipment and/or procedure affected your results. Record if your specimen had any anomalies (mishapen or missing organs) and/or if your team was uncertain about the identification of any organ or structure. Who were your team mates?

N = New things learned:

How well did your lab fulfill its purpose? Why do you think so?
